Although I was born in Alberta, I consider myself a Vancouverite since I've lived on the North Shore for almost 30 years.
Painting is an outlet for me. I am self taught and enjoy self expression through a variety of mediums, but painting allows me to process complex issues when I struggle to articulate or write about them. My inspirations usually come from internal conflict or intense thoughts, emotions and reactions. When I struggle to make sense of something I might paint about it to gain a better understanding of it.
I am fascinated by the connection (or lack thereof) between behavior, experience, mind, body and emotion. I am particularily intrigued about how we interpret or process experiences through our behaviors, thoughts, bodies and emotions. I like to challenge my own interpretations as well as challenge others.
I have sold paintings in Canada and the United States and have been commissioned to paint pieces for various private collections as well as some corporate. I have also donated paintings to help create awareness about mental health and trauma.
